Homestead Marine Services

Delivering Hope, Supplies, and Strength to Alaska’s Remote Shores and beyond.

WHO WE ARE

At Homestead Marine Services, we believe no community should be left behind simply because of geography. Founded by a team of mariners and problem-solvers, we operate with one clear mission: to support Alaska’s most remote villages by delivering the critical goods, equipment, and infrastructure they need to thrive.

Driven not by big government or corporate agendas, but by a humanitarian spirit and a commitment to self-reliance, we stand with the people of the frontier—those building homes, raising families, and preserving traditions in some of the most isolated places in the United States. Our vessel, the Pokagon, is more than a ship—it’s a lifeline.

WHAT WE DO

Marine Logistics & Transport

Moving goods, materials, and vital cargo across Alaska’s rugged waterways.

Infrastructure Support

Delivering tools and equipment to help maintain housing, power, and community facilities.

Partnerships & Public Contracts

Working with government and local entities to ensure reliable, sustained access to resources.

Emergency Support

Ready to respond when storms, shortages, or crises leave communities cut off from the outside world.

WHERE WE WORK

9

Aleutian Islands

Windswept fishing towns that rely on marine deliveries for food and fuel.

9

Bristol Bay & Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta

Home to Native communities where traditional life meets modern challenges, accessible only by boat or air.

9

Southeast Alaska

Island towns and villages scattered among fjords and forests, where ferries and small vessels are lifelines.

9

Arctic & Western Coast

Some of the most isolated settlements in North America, where seasonal ice and stormy seas demand resilient marine support.

Alaskan Communities

These communities are bound together by resilience and tradition, but their isolation creates constant challenges. Barges arrive only a few times a year, flights are weather-dependent, and winter storms can cut off vital supply lines for weeks.

That’s where the Pokagon and Homestead Marine Services step in.

By navigating Alaska’s vast and unpredictable waters, we deliver not just supplies, but stability—ensuring families, fishermen, and entire villages have what they need to endure and thrive on the edge of the frontier.

MEET THE VESSELS: THE POKAGON & M/V SARAH K

The heart of Homestead Marine Services is the Pokagon, a former U.S. Navy tugboat built for strength, endurance, and reliability. Designed to tow warships under the harshest conditions, she is perfectly suited for Alaska’s demanding frontier waters.

Now repurposed for humanitarian work, Pokagon connects isolated villages to critical resources while serving as a mobile mothership for M/V Sarah K and future drone carriers, enabling offshore refueling and resupply far beyond established ports.

M/V Sarah K is a C&L Sea Ranger 45 Sundeck, built by the renowned craftsmen at C&L’s Taiwan shipyard. Originally designed as a high-end personal yacht, she now serves two critical roles. First, she operates as a communications and support link between Homestead Marine Services and Alaska’s remote and Indigenous coastal communities. Second, she functions as a LiDAR UAV launch and recovery platform, enabling precision surveying in some of the most isolated coastal environments in the state. With a four-person crew, a state-of-the-art navigation electronics suite, and top-tier SOLAS safety equipment, Sarah K is purpose-built to operate deep within the rugged and least explored regions of Alaska’s southern coast and island chains.
